Job Description

The Staten Island Yankees (Class “A” Short-Season, New York–Penn League, New York Yankees) are looking for a committed and knowledgeable professional to join our team and help us improve our marketing, social media messaging, communications and community impact.

The Staten Island Yankees are six-time New York–Penn League Champions. Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George sits on the New York Bay and has breathtaking panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline. The ballpark is located next to the free Staten Island Ferry which connects Staten Island to Manhattan, just a few miles away.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and create messaging for all team communications:
- Social Media manager
- Scooter’s Scoop e-newsletter
- Draft press releases and be primary contact for all media inquiries
Help create and manage event promotions calendar
Perform marketing analysis, make recommendations for placement, and create content
Assist Sponsorship with sales and fulfillment including our gameday “Playball” magazine
Ability to create, render and edit electronic graphics
Enhance Community Relations by developing & strengthening partnerships in the community
Create, manage and operate additional events at ballpark
Other duties as assigned based on ability

REQUIREMENTS

Experience writing press releases; proficient in professional forms of communication
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is helpful; Microsoft Office & Internet knowledge required
Experience with all social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Flexibility and willingness to work long and irregular hours required
Previous management experience is preferred
Hours vary according to the game and event schedule. Must be available for days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
