The game day operations interns are responsible for the set up and breakdown of the ballpark for all Westerner home games. Additionally, they are responsible for managing all off field games including the nightly 50/50 raffle and occasional interactive fan games such as Baseball Bingo.
They will be assisted by Westerner volunteers but responsibility for timely completion of all tasks and management of all activities falls on them.
Pre-game set up must be completed by 5:30 for a 6:30 game start time. Arrival time must be no later than 4:30.
Pre-game responsibilities include updating and placing all informational signs, setting up ticket selling locations and setting up locations for honorees and non-profit guests.
Ticket sellers must be supplied with everything needed to run their location including tickets, programs, any give-away items for that night and the cash to make change. Ticket sellers are on duty from 5:30 until 7:15.
The Game Day Operations interns are also responsible for managing the 50/50 raffle preparation, ticket sales and drawing. This includes preparation of a sufficient supply of pre-torn tickets and making sure the necessary supplies are on hand.
From 5:30 the GDO Interns will man the left field line ticket seller location until 7:15 or the end of the second inning, whichever comes first. During this time, they will prepare the 50/50 raffle material.
After the 50/50 raffle is completed, the Game Day Operation interns will be responsible for breaking down and putting away everything that was set up before the game began.
These responsibilities are very much in line with what a game day operations person could be responsible for with a low level minor league baseball, hockey or soccer team.
This is a volunteer position. Housing is not provided.
