Founded in 1993 and organized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) is summer collegiate baseball at its best. It is one of the most talented and competitive leagues in the country. Play started in 1994 and today the NECBL has grown to a 13-team league that plays in all six New England states and recruits players attending U.S. colleges throughout the United States and beyond. Partially funded by Major League Baseball, the New England League started play in 1994 and has sent over 230 alumni to the Major Leagues with nearly 30 alumni taken in the first round of the MLB Draft. 

SUMMARY

The NECBL is seeking a results-oriented sales professional to generate and develop corporate sponsorship sales revenue across multiple advertising assets. Working remotely and reporting to the President, the Director will be responsible for selling & managing the NECBL’s sponsorship and advertising products to medium and large businesses, both regionally and nationally. Ideal candidate will be well-versed in sponsorship sales, specifically for sports and entertainment, and will possess a demonstrable track record of prospecting & closing deals in a relevant industry or vertical.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet or exceed yearly sales goals as established by the League
  • Identify, cultivate, secure, and manage relationships with corporate sponsors
  • Schedule, lead, and direct ongoing sponsorship sales presentations with external partners; develop positive relationships with prospects to execute against short and long-term strategic sponsorship sales plans 
  • Negotiate and compile sales contracts and agreements
  • Lead and oversee the activation, fulfillment, and execution of all sponsorship agreements
  • Ensure execution of all contracts and other documents associated with sponsorships 
  • Deliver monthly reporting to the League to demonstrate progress towards goals
  • Build and maintain a robust list of prospective sponsorship targets
  • Support and participate in business and industry related events and other relevant networking events
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in business, marketing or communications 
  • Minimum 2-5 years sponsorship sales and development experience 
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in sales and building quality relationships
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position

  • Proven ability to be a leader and generate revenue in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage flexible schedule, travel to meetings, meet deadlines, and efficiently lead and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Attend NECBL games, special events, and bi-monthly Board of Directors meetings
  • Passionate about the game of baseball and the New England region

COMPENSATION
Package includes: $50,000 salary plus 20% commission on new sponsorships and 10% on renewals, and an approved expense account.
