Position Overview
This role supports the retail operations of the Trenton Thunder, focusing on providing an exceptional fan experience within the team store and other merchandise locations. Merchandise Associates are crucial to the day-to-day success of the Thunder Company Store, ensuring a well-stocked and fan-friendly environment. Ideal candidates are passionate about baseball, committed to putting fans first, and dedicated to ensuring every visitor has a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service, assisting fans with merchandise selection, sizing, and purchases.
- Accurately process sales transactions using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle various payment methods.
- Unpack, organize, and replenish merchandise inventory, maintaining proper stocking levels and attractive displays.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe retail environment at all times.
- Support game day setup and breakdown of merchandise locations, including kiosks and the main team store.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock counts as needed.
- May assist with the fulfillment of online merchandise orders, including picking, packing, and shipping.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the baseball season.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 25-50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Previous retail, customer service, or merchandise experience.
- Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Experience working in a sports or entertainment venue.
Working Conditions
This role operates primarily in a retail environment, which may include working outdoors at kiosks in various weather conditions. It requires physical stamina, including standing for long periods, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying merchandise. The position involves working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, especially throughout the baseball season.
