EMPLOYMENT STANDARD:
·         Working knowledge of the maintenance of sports fields. 
·         Seeding, sodding and maintenance practices for sports field turf grass. 
·         Characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners, herbicides and pest control methods and materials.
·         High level of understanding of the sports requirements for field layouts and markings. 
·         Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of crew and equipment; to prepare clear and concise reports; and to maintain effective employee and employer communication. 
·         Possession of a valid driver’s license. 
·         Assists in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety and training, and may also modify the daily work schedule based on interpretation of the best interest of the company and guest. 
·         Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment and/or operates mowing and other equipment; supervises chemical applications and/or operates and calibrates chemical application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Candidate must be a professional, self-starter who will work as a team player, and also be able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
·         The preferred candidate will have a two or four year degree in Agronomy or Sports Turf Management, or the equivalence in experience and education. 
·         Should be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. 
·         Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work as well as identify the best people for the job. 
·         Ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself and other individuals to make improvements or take corrective action. 
·         Ability to talk to others and convey information effectively. 
·         Ability to manage ones own time and the time of others. 
·         Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
·          Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds. 
·         Able to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

COMPENSATION: Hourly pay plus potential for Overtime (2024 NJ State Min. Wage - $15.13)
