Role Overview
Begin building your resume in the Sports Industry with a fast-paced, hands-on internship experience with the St. Joseph Mustangs. As the Live Game Webcast Color/Play by Play Intern, you will be the voice of our games, bringing the excitement of collegiate summer league baseball to a wider audience. The Mustangs have consistently ranked in the Top 15 Nationally for attendance for the past 10 years, continuing that tradition in 2025 with an average of 2,800 guests per game. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop skills in sports broadcasting, live event production, and content creation in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and informative play-by-play and/or color commentary for all St. Joseph Mustangs home games, broadcast live on the Internet.
- Conduct thorough research on players, teams, and league standings to enhance broadcast quality and provide insightful analysis.
- Operate broadcast equipment, including cameras, during games and events as needed.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of webcast equipment before and after games.
- Collaborate with the game-day production team to ensure a seamless broadcast experience.
- Maintain a professional and enthusiastic demeanor while representing the St. Joseph Mustangs.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited College or University, with the ability to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Advanced knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and player dynamics.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a clear, articulate, and engaging broadcasting style.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to prepare compelling broadcast content.
- Ability to operate basic camera equipment and learn broadcast software (training provided).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy service industry environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and all Mustangs home baseball games and other events.
Schedule & Commitment
This internship runs from approximately May 15th to August 1st. Candidates must be available for all St. Joseph Mustangs home games and associated events during this period, including evenings and weekends.
