Role Overview
Begin building your resume in the Sports Industry with a fast-paced, hands-on internship experience with the St. Joseph Mustangs. As the Box Office Manager Intern, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of ticket operations for a successful collegiate summer league baseball team. The Mustangs have consistently ranked in the Top 15 Nationally for attendance for the past 10 years, continuing that tradition in 2025 with an average of 2,800 guests per game. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop skills in sales, customer service, and event management in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily box office operations, including in-person, phone, and online ticket sales.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing ticket-related inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
- Manage ticket inventory, distribution, and reconciliation processes.
- Assist with group sales initiatives and fulfillment for special events.
- Prepare daily sales reports and contribute to end-of-season financial reconciliation.
- Coordinate and train game-day box office staff, ensuring smooth operations during all home games and events.
- Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all fans entering the ballpark.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall game day execution.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited College or University, with the ability to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications; experience with ticketing software is a plus, but not required (training provided).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy service industry environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and all Mustangs home baseball games and other events.
Schedule & Commitment
This internship runs from approximately May 15th to August 1st. Candidates must be available for all St. Joseph Mustangs home games and associated events during this period.
