Role Overview

Begin building your resume in the Sports Industry with a fast-paced, hands-on internship experience with the St. Joseph Mustangs. As the Box Office/Accounting Intern, you will play a vital role in managing financial operations and supporting ticket sales, ensuring smooth administrative processes for a successful collegiate summer league baseball team. The Mustangs have consistently ranked in the Top 15 Nationally for attendance for the past 10 years, continuing that tradition in 2025 with an average of 2,800 guests per game. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop skills in financial management, accounting, and event support in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and track sponsor contract fulfillment.
  • Generate sponsor invoices and assist with collection processes.
  • Prepare and reconcile cash boxes for game day operations.
  • Prepare daily deposits and reconcile cash receipts.
  • Generate and accurately record daily cash reports.
  • Assist with credit card settlement processes and reconciliation.
  • Contribute to end-of-season financial recap and reporting.
  • Provide support to box office operations, including ticket sales and customer service during peak times.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support financial and operational functions.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an accredited College or University, with the ability to receive academic credit for the internship.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy service industry environment.
  • Prior experience with accounting software or ticketing systems is a plus, but not required (training provided).

Schedule & Commitment

This internship runs from approximately May 15th to August 1st. Candidates must be available for all St. Joseph Mustangs home games and other associated events during this period, including evenings and weekends.
