Job Summary:
R&D Baseball is a player development company committed to expanding its growing success in the player development industry. We’re seeking a multidisciplinary Player Development: Sports Performance Coach who’s looking to take on a role for a business that prioritizes progressive insights, work-life balance, and competitiveness. 
Our company seeks a STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH with a background in exercise science and/or kinesiology. We are looking for a motivated individual that can work among a team of coaches in a fast-paced, challenging training environment. Our ideal candidate must have experience in coaching and programming for the demands of the baseball population, but we are willing to train and help grow into the position. R&D is a collaborative environment that values proactive growth in our staff. We aim to challenge the status quo by seeking new insights that evolve how player development is viewed within the industry. The candidate will subsequently participate in various forms of continuing education while contributing new insights of his or her interest with the Sports Performance Director and team of player development coaches. 
 
R&D Strength Coach Responsibilities:
  • Run physical screens for each athlete. Work with R&D team of coaches to continually enhance this process. 
  •  Work with pitching and hitting coaches in developing training plans for each athlete.
  • Responsible for technical coaching in weight room for each client.
  • Build strong relationships with clients. 
  • Advise and monitor nutrition and sleep habits with clients. 
  • We see many referrals from PTs for rehabbing throwing related arm injuries. Must be able to collaborate with PTs and throwing coaches in the rehab process.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Health Science, Biomechanics, Human Performance, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology or closely related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant, full-time experience working with baseball players as well as athletes in multiple other sports. We value the general experience alongside that specific to baseball population. Experience can be as an intern or graduate assistant, at the college or professional level.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Possess a nationally reputable strength & conditioning certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA).
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
