Overview:
R&D Baseball is an organization committed to expanding its growing success in the player development industry. We’re seeking a Player Development: SEASONAL Hitting Coach for Winter 2025/26 who’s looking to take on a support role for a business that prioritizes progressive insights, hard work, and the continued development of our coaching staff.
Player Development: SEASONAL Hitting Coach will assist hitting program during hitting sessions and learn the in-depth operations of R&D's overall player development system. While R&D prioritizes an analytical approach, our fast-paced training environment highlights an often-overlooked feature of baseball: compete. In addition to training floor responsibilities, the successful candidate will present a positive, enthusiastic, and competitive attitude that embodies R&D Baseball’s intangible qualities.
R&D is a collaborative environment that values proactive growth in our staff. We aim to challenge the status quo by seeking new insights that evolve how player development is viewed within the industry. The candidate will subsequently participate in various forms of continuing education while contributing new insights of his or her interest with the Hitting Director and team of player development coaches.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work and support small group training sessions.
- Operate basic functions of R&D’s technologies (HitTrax, Trackman, Blast Motion, 4D Motion, Vald)
- Support coaching techniques with empirical methodologies
- Manage and build relationships with leadership qualities
- Collaborate and integrate industry leading insights to training floor
Qualifications
- Previous baseball experience at college or professional level
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- S&C background preferred (coursework, certifications, and/or coaching)
- Proficient with Microsoft office and basic computer skills
- Proven growth mindset
Additional Requirements
- Lift and move objects up to 50lbs
- Work evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrate training floor exercises
- Throw BP regularly
- Stand for extended periods of time under seasonal conditions
