 Are you a fan of baseball with a passion for the game’s tradition? Big Train Baseball is looking for a talented and enthusiastic PA Announcer for the 2025 season! This is a fantastic opportunity to be the voice of Big Train home games, engaging with fans and adding excitement to the game. As the Big Train PA Announcer, you'll be responsible for calling out the lineups, announcing key moments, and engaging fans between innings with fun facts and commentary. You’ll play a vital role in enhancing the fan experience at Big Train home games and during special events like the CRSCBL All-Star Game and CRSCBL Playoff games. How to Apply: Interested applicants should submit a 3-5 minute video of themselves reading from a provided PA script. This video should be uploaded to Google Drive (link will be provided) and a written application must be submitted via Teamwork Online. Commitment: The PA Announcer must be available for 24 regular season home games, the CRSCBL All-Star Game, and CRSCBL Playoff games. Experience and Motivation: Why do you want to be the Big Train PA Announcer? Please share your passion for baseball and what excites you about being the voice of Big Train games.
Do you have any prior experience as a PA Announcer or in a similar role? (Please provide details about your experience, including events or roles you've worked in and any relevant training.) How comfortable are you with live announcing and interacting with a crowd?
Are you proficient in writing or organizing PA scripts? Feel free to share any experience you have in public speaking, live events, or sports commentary.
Technical Requirements: Do you have access to a microphone and a quiet space for recording the 3-5 minute video application? (Yes/No) Have you submitted the video application with the provided PA script? (Yes/No)

PA SCRIPT TO BE PROVIDED:
    Good evening and welcome to Shirley Povich Field at Cabin John Regional Park for tonight’s Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League game between the Gaithersburg Giants and YOUR Bethesda Big Train. We hope you’re as excited for tonight’s game as we are, and we hope you have an outstanding night at the ballpark.
    Don’t watch the game on an empty stomach. We have lots of options including the Hot Dog Truck, the Grand Slam Grill, and the Home Run Cafe, all powered by Catalyst Hot Dogs.
   Visit the Home Run Cafe behind the Miller & Long Grandstand for cold drinks, ballpark favorites like peanuts and Cracker Jack, and pizza from Gregorio’s Trattoria. You’ll find the new Grand Slam Grill behind the Third Base Grandstand, serving amazing burgers, pulled pork, and plant-based options. Big Train’s favorite gourmet hot dogs can be found at the Catalyst Hot Dog Truck on the concourse.
    Skip the line this year! Scan the QR code found in your Game Night Program and on stickers located all over the ballpark to order from your seat! Order food from your mobile device, get a text when it’s ready, and pick it up from the Home Run Cafe.  National Anthem Audition:
GUIDELINES FOR YOUR AUDITION:
• Intro your video with “My name is [Insert Name]” and spell your name.
• Your video should be current. Please record a new audition video rather than submitting a recording of a past performance.
• Your video should not be any longer than 2 minutes.
• Participants should be dressed as if it was a game day and you were performing live on the field. Dress attire is recommended.
• Review your audition video before submitting. PERFORMANCES:
• Video Recording Devices (phone, computer, camera) should be in a secure position and should only focus on individuals’ upper body (waist up).
• Your audition needs to be acapella. Audio tracks should not accompany your talent.
• Your audition must be performed without the aid of sheet music.
TIPS FOR YOUR AUDITION: 
• While backgrounds are not required for specific set-ups, finding a solid-colored wall in a private area will give you the best focus and sound quality.
• Be mindful of background noises. Avoid any auditory distractions such as animals, kids, traffic, etc. 
• Use a naturally lit room with the majority of light on you. Try not to set up your camera with light coming from behind you. • Practice! Because you are filming at home, you can take as many tries as you would like. Be sure to submit the video that you are most proud of
