DiMisa High School Leadership Fellowship
The Bethesda Big Train (www.bigtrain.org) is now seeking high school students to serve as DiMisa Leadership Fellows for the 2026 season.
Alexander DiMisa was a longtime Big Train volunteer who exhibited the core value of Big Train baseball -- service to the community. Alex dedicated his life to serving others -- the model on which Big Train has been built. Alex passed away helping others. We honor his memory and his lifetime of service to his community with the DiMisa High School Leadership Fellowship. The DiMisa leadership program gives high school students an opportunity to work within their community to develop the leadership skills that Alex showcased every time he volunteered at Povich Field.
The DiMisa Fellows will work with our Veeck Operations Fellows to oversee and execute pre-game and in-game activities to enrich the fan experience at Povich Field. On non-game days, interns will represent and promote the organization in other roles at community events. This internship is perfect for high school students interested in learning customer service skills and possibly pursuing a career in the sports industry. Ideal candidates are outgoing, hard-working, self-starting, and able to problem-solve.
Interning with Big Train for 24 home games in June and July offers educational and networking opportunities. The internship includes a $250 payment to help cover expenses. High school students can receive Student Service Learning (SSL) hours in addition to the payment that covers expenses.
The application is due by January 2, 2026
