Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for day-to-day maintenance with a long-term solution mindset at Target Field. The correct candidate is forward-thinking and offers ingenuity as a strong trait. Has the ability to conform to the rigorous schedule supporting professional baseball.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Arrives at Target Field in 50 minutes or less
- Performs inspections on generators
- Meets “on call” needs for a rotational schedule
- Inspects, cleans, repairs, and lubricates portable sump pumps and drain systems
- Inspects, lubricates, troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts controls of all heating/cooling pumps and mixing valves
- Tests, cleans, lubricates, monitors, and inspects compressors and vacuum pumps; repairs and replaces components (including filters).
- Inspects, lubricates, repairs, cleans coils, and maintains (including filters) air handling equipment, including fixed blade axial fans and fume hood systems
- Tests and inspections for fire extinguishers and all associated fire suppression systems, including pumps, motors, valves, dry systems, etc.
- Operates and maintains all HVAC systems throughout Ballpark
- Applies working knowledge of refrigeration systems (EPA refrigerant certification preferred)
- Maintains and replaces light fixtures/bulbs, and ballasts
- Cleans waste from fixtures, drain pans, and plumbing drain systems.
- Identifies and orders spare parts, manages inventory.
- Tests and maintains heat trace pipe warmers
- Adjust temperatures of HVAC using the BMS, hot water systems, and flush water heaters
- Replaces fan sheaves, shafts, bearings, and motors
- Repairs flushometers, faucets, and toilet flush assemblies
- Maintains and repairs small engines, motors, equipment, doors, locks, and tools
- Repairs motors and pump
- Performs minor electrical maintenance (switch/outlet plates, replaces lamps, reset breakers, etc.)
- Maintains and repairs general building systems and hardware
- Maintains and replaces bathroom accessories
- Performs welding
- Working knowledge of CMMS building software; order entry, inventory control, systems scheduling, equipment maintenance, work order searches, and ordering parts
- Communicate with supervisor regarding equipment or supplies in need of repair or replenishment, also of facilities in need of repair or upkeep
- Maintains and repairs overhead doors, pedestrian doors, and hardware.
- Plans and performs winterization shutdown/start-up activities throughout the Ballpark
- Operates equipment and is responsible for snow removal on the property
- Maintains vehicles and equipment
- Perform various inspections throughout the facility
- Assists others in the organization as assigned
Requirement Experience and Education:
- Vocational education in mechanical maintenance or trades, totaling two years and three years of applicable work experience
- Must possess knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire suppression systems in large facilities
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Needs to read and understand Building plans and system diagrams.
- Understand and use basic Microsoft products.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Licensing/Certifications in: Electrical, Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, Pool, Refrigeration, CFC, Valid driver's license, confined space, Fortlikf, Man lift, CPR, HazMat, or OSHA 10-hour.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift items weighing as much as 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces wearing proper PPE
- Ability to work in extreme hot/cold, dirty spaces
- Ability to climb ladders and perform work overhead
- Ability to climb, stoop, bend, stand, crawl, push, and pull for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform snow removal duties, including shoveling and operating snow removal equipment
- Ability to use hand tools and specialized power tools
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, man lifts, and skid steers.
- Ability to work at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours as required to support events at Target Field
- Must be able to work in a seated position or standing for long periods
- Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
- Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
- Specific vision abilities include: close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to walk stairs to address the needs of fans during games
- You must be comfortable walking through the facility to access the offices, equipment rooms, fire control rooms, concession stands, etc.
- Must be able to work extended hours or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 annually. This role is also eligible for a performance-based bonus, which varies based on company and individual performance. Total cash compensation will depend on bonus payouts and will likely exceed base salary.
