Position Summary:
The Director, Brand Partnership Development will have a deep understanding of client needs – both expressed and unspoken – along with the ability to deliver creative solutions that exceed expectations. With a strong sense of servant leadership, this individual will promote teamwork, motivate colleagues, and build trust with internal teams and external partners. Taking full ownership of their role, the successful candidate will exceed traditional responsibilities to ensure outstanding client satisfaction and drive exceptional business results. By working closely with senior executives, brands and agencies, the Director will strategically utilize Twins’ assets to foster transformative brand partnerships.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Brand Partnerships to develop and implement strategic plans aimed at retaining, achieving, and driving long-term profitable sponsorship and broadcast media revenue growth.
  • Proactively seek out and secure new partnership opportunities to meet revenue goals.
  • Identify emerging brand partnership categories, focusing on forward-thinking companies that are eager to push creative activations and programming.
  • Develop tailored, solution-oriented packages using the organization’s assets to create new revenue streams and address client needs.
  • Analyze data for sales presentations and leverage insights into creative compelling partner proposals and pitches.
  • Work closely with the Research & Development team to oversee the creation of sales proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Deliver dynamic and persuasive presentations that inspire and motivate potential partners.
  • Lead negotiations with prospective partners to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Play a key role in sourcing and selling high-profile entitlement assets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Club to develop innovative and dynamic marketing platforms aimed at securing new brand partnerships.
  • Drive sales support and accountability to enhance the overall performance of the brand partnerships development team.
  • Contribute to creating a department culture that motivates staff to reach both organizational and personal goals.
  • Collaborate with account activation teams to build and maintain strong, decision-maker=level relationships.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM system to track all activity related to partners including deal points, financials, client profiles and client interactions.
  • Attend games and events to entertain clients and strengthen brand relationships.
  • Uphold and promote the Organizational Mission of the Minnesota Twins.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirement Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in sports sponsorship and/or media sales.
  • Established track record of successfully driving revenue.

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve and surpass goals.
  • Works well in a team environment and is comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and outside contacts.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in KORE CRM, Sportsdigita sales software, and Trak activation software.
  • Master of Business Administration Degree (M.B.A.).
  • Deep understanding of brand partnerships and sports media landscapes.
  • Previous experience in Major League Baseball.
 
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000 annually. This position will also have an annualize incentive target and will also eligible for a performance-based bonus, which varies based on company and individual performance. The total compensation range for this position is estimated to be $150,000 - $225,000.
