The Director – Ticket Sales will be responsible for building revenue from group ticket sales, ticket package sales, and other non-game day events. Will supervise and train sales staff, with a concentration on leading and managing ticket sales team. Compensation package includes base salary plus commission plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, manage, and coach sales staff
  • Develop goals for sales team and hold staff accountable
  • Direct the daily sales efforts through distribution of sales leads, monitoring daily sales call activity and tracking individual sales results
  • Assist in the ongoing training of sales team to refine sales skills
  • Monitor production and overall customer services provided by team. Provide feedback and coaching to promote growth as sales professionals
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with sales staff as well as weekly team meeting
  • Post phone call reports on a weekly basis
  • Develop and maintain a reward and recognition program to best preserve a positive departmental culture
  • Develop and implement group tickets and ticket package sales initiatives to help grow sales revenues
  • Assist with annually reviewing all season ticket policies, benefits and procedures and make adjustments as needed
  • Assist with preparing the makeup of all season ticket plan schedules
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings; coming prepared to provide input
  • Build revenue through sales of game tickets, picnics, and other food packages for businesses, organizations, schools and other groups with greater than 20 people
  • Build non-game day revenue through Corporate Family Outings
  • Responsible for sales during off-season, including sponsorship sales
  • Pull tarp on field, as necessary

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                        
Directly supervises three regular full-time employees and at least two seasonal group sales staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
  • Prior sports and/or entertainment industry experience preferred
  • Experience managing and leading small teams preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to generate revenue and achieve sales goals, focused on large clients

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Computer Skills:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    
 
Language Skills:                                                
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills:                                                     
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
 
Reasoning Ability:      
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
 
Work Hours:                                                     
Business hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5pm, however, additional hours may be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays. Must work all home games.
