Facility Operations/Event Staff: Security
Summary   Provides security to American Family Field and surrounding property by patrolling the full facility by foot and vehicle and responding to incidents including fire, vandalism, illegal entry and credential authorization of employees, contractors and visitors at American Family Field. Perform screening of personnel entering American Family Field. Act as a first responder to verify various alarms. This 24/7 Security Officer will primarily work the Midnight to 8:00 am shift. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Patrol facility and surrounding parking lots and outbuildings to provide a visible presence of authority by using motorized vehicle and walking
  • Assist in pre- and post-event duties, including locking doors, parking lots and security sweeps
  • Perform tours, checking maintenance of ballpark including irregularities, fire hazards, leaking pipes, etc.
  • Report and record incidents such as unusual occurrences, property damage, and trespassing
  • Operate outfield wall panels (closing and opening, as needed)
  • In winter months, serve as a backup for shoveling/salting various ballpark entrances 
  • Follow and enforce security procedures to maintain a safe environment at American Family Field
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Experience and training in security procedures and law enforcement a plus. Possessing a security license also a plus.
Computer Skills  
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.     
Other Skills and Abilities 
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner using a two way radio system
  • Ability to operate a motorized golf cart safely and to training standards
  • Ability to comprehend training in topics specific to this position some of which may be physical in nature
Language Skills                                                 
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills                                                      
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  
Reasoning Ability   
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/quiet.
Work Hours                                                      
Hours vary according to schedule. Typical shifts are Midnight to 8:00 am. Weekends, overnight, evenings and holidays will be included. Maximum of 30 hours per week.
