Background
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the High ‘A’ affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are a highly respected Minor League Baseball team recognized locally and nationally as an industry leader and a best-in-class sports and entertainment organization.  Located in Appleton, Wisconsin (between Green Bay and Milwaukee), the Appleton community is a great place to live, work and play.  Neuroscience Group Field contains a second level Club Level space (Fox Club) that is used year round for banquet events and is one of the premier banquet/meeting venues in the Fox Valley.

Job Description
The Banquet Sales and Event Manager is a professional who will sell, plan, and execute banquet/meeting/non-baseball events in The Fox Club in collaboration with the Banquet Events Manager and the food and beverage staff.
 
Essential Functions
The Banquet Sales and Event Manager  will work with all aspects of a banquet or event, which includes making the sale, creating event documents, opening and/or closing events, overseeing set-up and serving staff, and working closely with the client during the event.  Hours beyond the traditional workday will be required including some nights and weekends.
Responsibilities will also include assisting other departments when requested or needed.  All job tasks should be performed in compliance with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers/Third Base Ventures.
 
Responsibilities
The Banquet Sales and Event Manager will work with clients interested in holding a banquet at Neuroscience Group Field and this will include the following;
  • Selling the venue to clients by giving tours, making outbound sales calls and e-mails, and answering inquiries.
  • Creating event documents such as work orders, invoices, layouts, and contracts.
  • Coordinating banquets to meet and exceed client’s needs and this will involve the following;
    • Opening and/or closing events
    • Help with setup, serving, and bartending as staff require assistance.
    • Coordinating a banquet staff of 5-15 staff members.
    • Coordinating entertainment and/or required audio/visual equipment needs.
    • Ensuring the satisfaction of clients by providing superior customer service.
    • Selling and coordinating offsite catering.
    •  Providing the highest level of customer service to all our customers.
    • Communicating details in a timely manner to others including kitchen staff, grounds crew, and operations.

Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have great oral and written communication skills and a desire to provide top-notch customer service. Preferred candidates will also have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in food service/business/hospitality management, or a related discipline and 1-3 years of related experience.
 
Work Environment and Equipment Needed
The Banquet Sales and Event Manager will have office space and a computer to be equipped with:
  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio

  • Honeybook 

 Benefits
  • Base salary plus commission on all banquet & catering events.
  • The insurance package covers 75% of medical and dental premiums for single coverage and 75% for family coverage.  Medical coverage begins 60 days from the 1st of your starting month.  
  • The retirement plan is available to all full-time staff members who choose to participate.  The team matches up to 3% of your pre-tax contribution.  
  • Paid time off (vacation) begins with 13 days for an entire fiscal year.  PTO is accrued four (4) hours every payroll.  
  • Comp day earned for every weekend day worked.
