JOB DESCRIPTION:
The South Bend Cubs are the gold standard in Minor League Baseball and are looking for college students to learn from our wealth of experience. Our Marketing & Promotions Internship will give you first-hand experience working in the fast-paced world of professional baseball. This position will report directly to the Assistant General Manager for Marketing & Media and primary responsibility is to provide support for the South Bend Cubs Marketing and Promotions department through a variety of channels (print, digital, web, and video). This is a for credit internship. 
 
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Assist with the execution of team promo schedule.
  • Help produce the game day run of show, including supervising the Blue Crew.
  • Assist in planning and execution of South Bend Cubs community programs (including but not limited to kids club, reading club, and baseball academy)
  • Work with graphic design team to implement marketing materials (flyers, banners, billboards, and other marketing materials)
  • Work with local partners in expanding Copa de la Diversion program (Los Cabritos Maldichos)
  • Assist with Proof of Performance development and execution
  • Coordinate mascot appearances, be available as a mascot handler/mascot for community events 
  • Assist with the execution of team social media plan.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
  • Currently enrolled or graduating from a college/university (degree in marketing preferred but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong verbal and writing skills 
  • Must be self-motivated and ability to work independently at times 
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude 
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and be able to stand on your feet for 4-6 hours 
  • Able to work non-traditional hours, holidays, weekends – available for tarp pulls and other duties as assigned
