Job Title: Merchandise/Community Intern

Position Overview:
The Merchandise/Community Intern will play a key role in supporting the Kernels’ retail operations and community engagement efforts. This position offers hands-on experience in fan relations, retail management, and community outreach. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, fun environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Merchandise Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day operations of Souvenir Shop, including customer service, restocking, and organizing inventory.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
- Help with merchandise setup for game days and special events.
- Support online store operations including order fulfillment and packaging.
- Assist with merchandise planning, displays, and promotional initiatives.
Community Relations Responsibilities:
- Represent the Kernels at community appearances, parades, and promotional events.
- Assist with community programs such as reading initiatives, donation requests, and mascot appearances.
- Support the planning and execution of theme nights, charity events, and fan engagement activities.
- Coordinate logistics for community partnerships and player appearances.
Requirements:
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and enthusiasm for working with the public.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Retail or event experience preferred but not required.
- Pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
