As a Sky Carp Intern, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience, develop new skills, and build confidence working in the sports and entertainment industry. The Beloit Sky Carp are seeking a Social Media & Community Outreach Intern to help capture and share the excitement of Sky Carp baseball — from the action on the field to the family fun and community spirit that make our organization special.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in capturing the family-friendly atmosphere at the ballpark.
• Help create engaging, platform-specific content across all social media channels.
• Develop baseball and non-baseball graphics for social media and digital use.
• Manage photos, videos, and other creative inventory.
• Create content for use during both the season and off-season.
• Monitor and implement emerging social media trends.
• Post in-game updates, videos, and graphics across platforms (including X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn).
• Support coverage of community events and player appearances.
• Assist in writing press releases and community recaps.
• Help plan, set up, and tear down for community events and game day promotions.
• Represent the Beloit Sky Carp positively and enthusiastically in the community.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Currently pursuing a degree or career in sports media, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X).
• Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to think outside the box.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and independent working skills.
• Strong customer service and fan engagement skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to assist with manual labor tasks, including pulling tarp.
• Must be available for community events and weekend appearances.

Education and Experience
• Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a relevant study area.

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period, lift to 30 pounds, and use standard office equipment, including computers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an internship position. The days and hours will vary according to business needs, including evening and weekend work.
