Description
The Beloit Sky Carp Promotions/Entertainment internship explores the world of professional sports promotion. Interns get an immersive experience offering a chance to gain knowledge of theme nights, gameday fan experience, on-field activities, sponsorship requirements, and much more. The Sky Carp look to help shape the future of sports professionals by offering in depth professional development and leadership trainings to all interns. An intern with the Beloit Sky Carp will learn in an organization and environment that is recognized as one of the most up-and-coming in minor league baseball. The Sky Carp’s goal is to provide each intern valuable learning experience while the college or university course requirements are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Must be willing to smile, laugh and embrace a culture of positivity
• Plan and coordinate assorted theme nights and promotional events, includes incorporating sponsors and securing special guests
• Schedule and coordinate National Anthem Singers, First Pitches, and pregame performances
• Assist with pregame entertainment and giveaways
• Facilitate creative on-field entertainment between innings
• Assist in management of The Gaggle (Street Team) employees
• Organize and clean Gaggle equipment and gear
• Attend Baseball U to obtain knowledge and professional development
• Participate in professional development training
• Coordinate and assist Poopsie at games and community events
• Provide customer service to fans and patrons

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Outgoing and customer service oriented
• Comfortable in front of large crowds
• Open for professional feedback and composition critiques
• High level of integrity
• Grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• Leadership demonstrated in school organizations, sports and/or work experiences
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently and self-motivate
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to attend company events of all types
• Ability to learn and adapt in fast changing environments
• Ability to learn in flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to pull tarp and other manual labor tasks, part of the baseball learning experience
• Due to the strong community support of the Sky Carp, persons from the greater Stateline area or who are attending local area schools are preferred.

Education and Experience
Interns are unpaid students and they must be part of a college or university program or course. Previous customer service experience a plus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a seasonal, part-time position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and the use of standard office equipment including computers.
