Description 
The Beloit Sky Carp are seeking a creative, energetic, customer-focused mascot performer. The performer should possess professional knowledge and interpersonal skills (especially with children). A qualified performer should be skilled in physical performance as well as spontaneous crowd–interaction. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Energetic pre-game, in-game and post-game presentation as directed by Sky Carp management staff, keeping in mind the family-friendly atmosphere and vision of the organization as we deliver an excellent show to fans.  
  • Participation in late-game autograph sessions during each home game. 
  • Professionalism in working with both staff members and fans. 
  • Adherence to game day agenda/run-down to meet the requirements of group outings, birthdays, sponsorships, promotions, etc.  
  • Input on making game day experiences more enjoyable for fans.  
  • Improvising and thinking on one’s feet to make the best possible decision in the moment. 
 
NON-GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Appearances in the local community including races, festivals, contests, charitable causes, with the Sky Carp Promo Team, sponsors, etc.  
  • Appearances at Sky Carp outside events. 
  • Conceptualize the mascots personality, antics, role in fan engagement and contribute new ideas for involvement in promotions, appearances, etc.  
  • Communication and collaboration with the Sky Carp promotions staff. 
  • Professionalism in working with both staff members and fans.

Requirements: 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
  • Willingness to fulfill the role of a mascot as needed throughout the season and off-season.  
  • Excellent communication, organizational, creative and interpersonal skills.  
  • Energy and passion when it comes to performing.  
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays and evenings.  
  • Must be able to spend an ample amount of time on your feet and can work in extreme weather conditions.   
  • Must be dependable and professional.  
  • Valid driver's license 
 
Education and Experience 
GED or higher preferred and customer service experience 
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 
Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs. The position is generally limited to a maximum of 30-40 hours per week and does not include benefits other than pay ($12/hr). 
 
Physical Demands 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and work in extreme weather conditions.
