As part of the Game Day Operations team, the Usher will provide excellent service to our fans and guests by providing them with a clean and safe environment each and every time they come to a ballgame or special event (concerts, etc.) at ABC Stadium.  We have established very high standards that we expect every employee to exemplify. Ushers The job entails a great deal of walking, climbing stairs and standing on concrete surfaces in both cold and extremely hot weather. Ushers are expected to serve the guests and many times the duties and responsibilities will prevent the Usher from seeing the ball game.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist fans in locating their seats.
  • Use the “5-10” rule to greet fans: make eye contact with any fan within 10 feet, and within 5 feet greet them with a cheerful hello and offer assistance when necessary.
  • Clean seats, pick-up trash, and check garbage receptacles in assigned section at regular intervals
  • Maintain control in assigned section, including walking the aisles between innings, and checking on foul balls in stands
  • Monitoring your assigned area for safety concerns including unruly fans
  • Report fan and safety concerns to Sky Carp staff members or contracted security team members
  • Assist with ticket scanning, bag checks, game entertainment, and giveaways
  • Answer fan questions and directing issues/complaints to proper Sky Carp staff members
  • Be knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures 
  • Answer fan questions in a friendly and polite manner
  • Possess general knowledge of ABC Stadium

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Outgoing and customer service oriented
  • Comfortable working of large crowds
  • Open for professional feedback and composition critiques
  • High level of integrity
  • Strong teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently and self-motivate
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Ability to work in fast changing environments
  • Excellent customer service, people, and relationship skills
  • Ability to stand up for 4+ hours at a time, is ideal but not necessary
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs, is ideal, to show fans to their seats and to check on foul balls
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently in a team environment
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions, including cold, wind, rain and heat
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, days, weekends and holidays

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
 This is a seasonal, part-time position.  Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.
