Summary/Objective 
The Head Groundskeeper will lead, supervise, and oversee all aspects of grounds management that are included in scope of work. The Head Groundskeeper manages the department budget and procurement process within established guidelines. This position will provide professional consultation or undertake lead role in athletic field/grounds renovation projects.

Essential Functions
1. Develop and implement schedules for the management of Pohlman Field & transition into ABC Supply Stadium, this includes ornamental landscapes, lawn maintenance, and grounds maintenance that are associated with the entire property owned by the team
2. Develop and implement annual business plan
3. Field(s) set up and take down for baseball operations; ensure that fields meet all criteria and rules as set forth by the MLB, NCAA, team affiliates, and other clients that may solicit use of the field for events
4. Maintain financial records of all funds and labor expenses for department
5. Procurement of all materials required to administer a proven management program using approved vendors and within approved protocol
6. Assist in development and implementation plans for emergency response due to inclement weather (i.e., blizzard, tornado or other natural disasters/catastrophes)
7. Implement Standard Operating Procedures, follow all protocol and implement Quality Assurance Plan
8. Prepare and maintain field quality for on-field activities scheduled throughout the year
9. Implement training protocol for regulatory compliance, safety and technical needs
10. Document and record all training
11. Implement the use of an environmentally-sound pest management program that includes Integrated Pest Management; maintain impeccable records of all actions taken to manage identified pests/abatement or applications
12. Ensure performance of all work in a safe manner for the employee, subordinates, students and others that use the facilities
13. Maintain certifications, attend regional, state or national training
14. Achieve both company and client's program integrity at high quality standards
15. Performs all other duties as requested or directed to ensure the continued function of the organization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Good written (report writing) and oral communication (public speaking) skills
2. Efficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or other compatible programs
3. Ability to promote awareness to management program
4. Ability to operate athletic field/grounds management related equipment, including the use of hand tools
5. Experience managing staff is required
6. Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude required
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
8. Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
9. Ability to maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment
10. Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
11. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business needs

Education and Experience
Minimum five years of experience in managing high profile athletic fields and a two-year degree in Agronomy/Horticulture-related field preferred, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, operate heavy machinery, and lift up to 50 pounds.
