About:
The Sherman Shadowcats are proud members of the Mid-America League, a vibrant new baseball league focused on adding an exciting summer entertainment option to under-served markets in the south-central region of the United States.
The 2024 inaugural season begins May 23 and concludes August 10 with playoffs to commence on August 12.  Each of the six teams will play a 68-game schedule (34 home, 34 road). 
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the #2 broadcaster, providing Play by Play and Color Commentary for all 34 Home games.
  • Work with the #1 broadcaster to prepare game notes and statistics
  • Interview Players and Coaches before and after games
  • Write series Previews and Game Recaps
  • Assist in a 15-30 minute pregame show
  • Assist with the operation of broadcast equipment, running commercials and more 
  • Prepare for broadcasts prior to arrival at the stadium 
  • Daily production meetings
  • Bring creativity to any and all work you do
Requirements:
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work with others 
  • Must be available to work from mid May to August
  • Must have a positive personality with great communication skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Indesign
  • Demonstrated writing and grammar proficiency in AP Style.
  • Understanding of broadcast equipment, streaming devices 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism 
  • Strong baseball knowledge
Interns will be paid $25 per home game, and a host family will be provided if needed.
