Position Summary
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a critical force behind the infrastructure that powers our baseball operations platforms. This role is responsible for architecting and managing our cloud environment, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and performance of various baseball systems. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure, partnering closely with data engineers, analysts, and baseball operations staff to keep our systems fast, secure, and always available, while also innovating for the future needs of the department.
Essential Functions
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Build, manage, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitHub Enterprise to support reliable, automated software delivery.
- Architect and operate Kubernetes-based container workloads, with deep ownership of orchestration, scheduling, and cluster reliability.
- Design and maintain Apache Airflow workflows that power data orchestration across baseball systems.
- Monitor baseball system health and lead on-call incident response using observability and incident management platforms, driving fast resolution and post-incident improvement.
- Partner with baseball systems teams to support infrastructure needs for cloud data warehouse platforms and downstream analytical and machine learning capabilities.
- Develop and enforce infrastructure-as-code standards, security best practices, and cloud cost governance policies using Terraform and other tooling.
- Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted developer tooling to improve engineering efficiency and operational workflows across baseball operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across baseball operations to ensure infrastructure scales with organizational demands.

Skill Requirements
• Expertise in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, workload orchestration, and production operations at scale.
• Experience with ArgoCD and Helm for Kubernetes-native deployment and release management.
• Strong proficiency with Apache Airflow, including DAG development, scheduling, and pipeline reliability in a data engineering context.
• Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitHub Enterprise.
• Experience supporting cloud data warehouse platforms in a production infrastructure capacity such as Big Query, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tooling and cloud automation best practices.
• Familiarity with observability and incident management platforms for monitoring, alerting, and on-call response.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted developer tooling to accelerate engineering workflows.
• Strong scripting skills in Python or similar languages for automation and tooling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across technical and non-technical teams.
• Passion for baseball and some knowledge of advanced baseball analytics is preferred.
Education & Experience Guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise cloud environments and Kubernetes-based systems in a production setting.
- GCP or AWS professional certification is a plus.
- Experience supporting real-time data pipelines and high-availability systems is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Availability to travel occasionally for industry conferences or organizational needs.
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and work in an office environment.
