Position Summary
The Prep Cook plays a key role in supporting an on-site catering operation by executing advanced food preparation tasks, assisting with cooking and event production, and maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. This position requires strong knife skills, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume catering environment.
Essential Functions
• Prepare ingredients and food items according to standardized recipes, menus, and production timelines
• Perform advanced knife work, portioning, and batch preparation for catering events
• Assist with and execute cooking tasks such as roasting, grilling, baking, sautéing, and assembling finished dishes
• Support event execution, including prep for large-scale and high-volume service
• Properly label, date, store, rotate, and handle food products following FIFO and food safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas
• Receive, inspect, and store deliveries in accordance with food safety procedures
• Work closely with chefs and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth daily operations
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced kitchen staff as needed
• Comply with all local, state, and company food safety and sanitation regulations

Education & Experience Guidelines
• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a prep cook or similar role in a catering, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of professional food prep techniques
• Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
• Food Handler or Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or equivalent) required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe
Work Environment
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Requires daily interaction with professional athletes, coaches, and staff; professionalism, discretion, and a high level of respect are essential
• Must consistently demonstrate a customer service mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs, respond to feedback, and contribute to a positive clubhouse and staff environment
