Position Summary
The Miami Marlins are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual for the role of Video Coach within the Player Development department. This is an apprentice position designed for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in both video technology and coaching. The Video Coach will play a critical role in capturing, managing, and editing game footage while assisting the coaching staff in reviewing and analyzing videos for player development. Additionally, the Video Coach will be involved in various coaching responsibilities, offering an opportunity to grow and learn under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Essential Functions
• Video Capture & Management: Operate video equipment to record and capture footage of games, practices, and workouts, ensuring high-quality video content is available for player review and analysis.
• Video Editing & Analysis: Collaborate with coaches to pull and edit game footage, creating clips and video breakdowns for individual players and team sessions.
• Video Review Sessions: Assist coaches during video review sessions, helping analyze footage to provide insights into player performance, mechanics, and areas of improvement.
• Technology Integration: Utilize video analysis software and tools (e.g., BATS, TrackMan, PitchBase, TruMedia) to enhance player development efforts, ensuring the latest technology is integrated into daily processes.
• Coaching Apprenticeship: Support coaches with on-field duties, including player drills, practice setup, and training exercises. Gain exposure to coaching techniques and strategies at the professional level.
• Player Development Support: Provide assistance with player data collection and performance tracking, working closely with coaches and development staff to ensure holistic player improvement.

Skills Requirements
• Proficiency with video systems including BATS and Edgertronic.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with coaches and players.
• Experience with PitchBase or similar content distribution systems.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Leadership and team management capabilities, especially during Spring Training.
• High attention to detail and discretion with sensitive material.

Education & Experience Guidelines
• Experience: Previous experience working with video equipment, editing software, or in a sports-related video role preferred. Previous coaching experience preferred as well
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with video capture tools and software (e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere, BATs, TrackMan, or similar platforms).
• Interest in Coaching: A strong desire to pursue a career in coaching or player development.
• Baseball Knowledge: Solid understanding of the game of baseball, including rules, strategies, and player mechanics. Familiarity with player evaluation, scouting, and statistical analysis tools used in professional baseball.

Work Environment
• Extensive travel throughout the season with MiLB Team.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the regular baseball schedule.
• Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work in both on-field and office settings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and manage technical setups.
