Position Summary
As a Minor League Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for providing rehabilitation services, injury prevention programs, and recovery strategies for Minor League players. This role involves working closely with athletic trainers, team physicians, and strength and conditioning staff to optimize player health and performance. An interprofessional collaborative spirit, effective multidiscipline communication, and relationship building through a foundation of trust, integrity, and a player-centered approach to healthcare are essential for success in this position.
Essential Functions
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for injured players.
• Perform movement assessments and corrective exercise programming to prevent injuries.
• Work collaboratively with athletic trainers, team physicians, and performance staff.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities to enhance recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with MLB and team health protocols.
• Educate players on best practices for recovery, mobility, and injury prevention.
• Assist with on-field and athletic training room support before, during, and after games.
• Report injury updates and rehabilitation progress to the Assistant Director of Athletic Training and Rehabilitation.

Skill Requirements
• Proficiency in MLB Electronic Medical Record System (AthleteRMS)
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy, rehabilitation, and injury prevention techniques.
• Experience with movement assessments, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise prescription.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with MLB and MiLB health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience Guidelines
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment.
• Certification in Manual Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, or related specialty preferred.
• Upper Extremity Fellowship or Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Fellowship preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sports physical therapy, preferably in professional or collegiate baseball.
• Experience working with high-performance athletes in rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Work Environment
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively during the season.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
