The Manager of Corporate Communications plays a key leadership role in developing and executing strategic public relations initiatives that support the growth of the Miami Marlins and loanDepot park brands. This position partners closely with Marketing, Fan Experience, Ticket Sales, Partnerships, and Ballpark Events to elevate the organization’s business story, drive brand visibility, and strengthen the connection between the Marlins and loanDepot park with the South Florida community. The Corporate Communications Manager will also create and guide the internal communications plan, which will be executed operationally by the Coordinator of Corporate Communications.
Essential Functions:
• Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies that support key business objectives across Marketing, Fan Experience, Ticket Sales, Partnerships, and loanDepot park Events.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders, providing guidance on messaging, positioning, and media opportunities that drive brand awareness and business outcomes.
• Identify proactive storytelling opportunities that highlight the Marlins’ brand growth, partnerships, innovation, and fan-first initiatives.
• Collaborate with Marketing team to ensure messaging consistency across paid, owned, and earned media channels.
• Support executive visibility through media opportunities, speaking engagements, and thought leadership placements related to business operations and community impact.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets to promote the Marlins brand and its business ventures.
• Oversee media outreach, press releases, and publicity campaigns that support promotional initiatives, ticketing programs, partnership activations, and special events.
• Develop talking points, media brief sheets, and key messages for executives and department leaders.
• Monitor industry trends and media coverage to identify opportunities for strategic positioning.
• Serve as a media contact for business-related storylines and assist with on-site media coordination for special events and activations.
• Develop and oversee the organization’s internal communications strategy to foster transparency, connection, and alignment across all levels of the Marlins organization.
• Create the framework and messaging calendar for internal communications campaigns and initiatives.
• Provide strategic direction and editorial oversight to the Corporate Communications Coordinator, who will manage the day-to-day internal communications operations.
• Ensure internal messaging reflects organization’s mission, vision, and values.
• Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Partner with internal teams to align communications strategies with organizational priorities and ensure integration across marketing, sales, and fan engagement platforms.
• Support communications planning for new product launches, event announcements, partnership unveilings, and ballpark enhancements.
• Work closely with the Ballpark Operations and Fan Experience teams to communicate updates and innovations that enhance the guest experience.
• Collaborate with the Partnerships team to amplify sponsor activations and community-facing initiatives through earned media.
• Oversee the preparation of reports, media recaps, and key performance metrics to evaluate PR effectiveness.
• Assist with crisis and issue communications, ensuring timely and consistent messaging across all departments.
• Represent the Communications department at internal planning meetings and external stakeholder events as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or public relations, preferably in sports, entertainment, or hospitality industries.
• Proven success in developing and executing PR and internal communications strategies that support business and organizational objectives.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with experience in both media-facing and internal messaging.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate across departments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required for games and events.
