Position Overview:
The Miami Marlins are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support the daily operations of the HR team. This role is foundational to the employee experience, with primary responsibility for maintaining accurate HR records, ensuring data integrity across digital and physical files, and supporting core HR processes such as onboarding, orientation, and employee inquiries. The HR Coordinator will act as the first point of contact for HR-related questions, provide essential administrative support, and assist in recruitment and hiring activities as needed.

This is a critical entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources while contributing to a culture of precision, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Onboarding:
Own the onboarding process for all new hires by preparing paperwork, completing I-9 verification, entering data into HRIS, and coordinating equipment, badging, and system access to ensure a seamless start. Maintain communication with candidates throughout the onboarding process to ensure timely start dates with respect to background and drug screening completion.

HR Compliance and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate digital and physical employee files. Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational, legal, and league requirements.

Employee and Office Support: Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and direct them appropriately. Manage badging and security access, assist with equipment distribution and returns, and provide general office support to the HR team.

Recruitment Assistance: Support job postings, schedule candidate interviews, and coordinate with hiring managers to keep the recruitment process efficient and timely.

Offboarding Support: Coordinate paperwork, access removal, and equipment returns for departing employees. Schedule exit interviews with HR leadership as required.

General Administrative Support: Provide scheduling, communications, and project assistance to HR leadership. Support compliance audits and other HR initiatives as needed.

Game Coverage: This role will be required to work games, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of the regular responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, with 2+ years of experience in human resources, specifically in onboarding, with a preference for experience within a sports or entertainment environment. Additional experience in lieu of higher education will be considered. 
  • Knowledge: Foundational understanding of USCIS and I-9 verification required. Basic understanding of HR practices and labor laws is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
