Position Summary
The DR Data/Tech Scouting Coordinator will serve as the bridge between scouting and technology in the Dominican Republic. This hybrid role combines data/tech leadership with on-the-ground scouting responsibilities, supporting the DR Supervisor in player evaluations while managing all technical and analytical workflows. The coordinator will oversee DR video/tech interns, travel throughout different regions of the country, and ensure both data integrity and scouting coverage align with the Marlins’ international philosophy.
Essential Functions
• Partner with the DR Supervisor on regional coverage, assisting with live evaluations of amateur prospects and committed players.
• Travel across different regions of the DR to supplement area scout coverage and ensure organizational presence at priority events/programs.
• Integrate scouting looks with data insights, helping create “true value” player profiles.
• Provide written evaluations on players, emphasizing body, athleticism, swing/throwing actions, and projection in alignment with department standards.
• Lead collection, processing, and quality control of all DR tryout, workout, and game data.
• Standardize workflows for data entry into internal systems.
• Manage integration of video with Trackman and testing data for synced reports.
• Deliver post-event reports to scouts, supervisors, and leadership within 24–48 hours.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate DR video/tech interns; ensure consistency in camera angles, labeling, tagging, and upload protocols.
• Mentor interns not only in tech but also in introductory scouting concepts, preparing them for potential growth into hybrid roles.
• Act as a liaison between DR scouts, PD staff, and Miami leadership to maintain alignment on data/scouting integration.
• Lead technical operations at DR tryouts, showcases, and academy workouts
• Assist the DR Supervisor in organizing regional tryouts and ensuring scouts have the right tools and information before, during, and after events.
• Provide live feedback during events — both scouting observations and data flags — to support quick decision-making.

Skill Requirements
• Strong technical background in baseball technology (Trackman, Blast, Rapsodo, Force Plates, Vald, Edgertronic preferred).
• Experience in amateur scouting or player evaluation (international or domestic).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) with excellent communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both office and field settings.
• Leadership ability to supervise and mentor interns/analysts.
• Strong understanding of body projection, athletic traits, and player development fundamentals.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the DR and occasionally to Miami or other markets.
• Quality and timeliness of both scouting evaluations and data reports.
• Consistency and reliability of video/data workflows.
• Impact on DR Supervisor’s coverage efficiency and decision-making
Education & Experience Guidelines
• Minimum 2+ years of baseball-related work experience preferred.
• Background in playing baseball is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
• Frequent travel within the assigned region and occasional international travel.
• Availability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, often in outdoor environments.
