Marketing: Dance Team/Cheerleader/Choreographer
Position Summary:  
The  Choreographer is the main choreographer that creates and teaches the Marlins  dance routines. The Dance Team  will perform these routines at select Marlins Home Games, community events, and corporate engagements. He/She is responsible for coordinating weekly rehearsals. On gamedays, Choreographer will liaison with in-game entertainment to coordinate the dance team's participation. In addition, this person will be responsible for keeping the dance team up to date on visual appearance for each routine. 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, creating and teaching dance routines , working all home games with a dance performance, organizing weekly practices offsite.  There will also be an opportunity to bring in guest choreographer(s) for select performances/themes with prior approval.
  • Be available for Marlins home games, outside events, and all dance practices
  • Must be able to create and teach choreography for Marlins home games and events
  • Work with the Marketing and Game Operations on theme night dance routines, rehearsal schedule, and assist with game day duties 
o   Coordinate all dance rehearsals/practices as needed 
o   Help coordinate the direction, discipline, and organization of the  dance team in compliance with Team policy 
o   Maintain high quality health/appearance standards for his/herself 
o   Must maintain professional relationships with the Miami Marlins front office staff and fellow team members. Failure to do so will result in termination
 
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, have strong discipline, be mature, and have a strong passion for dance
  • Must have dependable transportation to any and all trainings, games, appearances, and maintain a clean driving record
  • Must be able to work in a baseball setting and work non-traditional hours
  • Must be able to accept supervision and guidance as well as work with key stakeholders within the Marlins organization to ensure scheduling and rehearsal time
             
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:

  • Must be a talented and experienced choreographer capable of independently leading exciting and diverse dance routines.  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Dance choreography at the professional level.
