The Wilmington Blue Rocks are seeking enthusiastic, outgoing, and motivated individuals to join the Retail Team for the 2026 regular season.
The job of a Retail Store Associate includes active knowledge of store inventory, the ability to greet and engage fans proactively, before they even need assistance, and complete cash and card transactions.
When less busy, the Associate is expected to have awareness of the appearance of the store and help ensure cleanliness by assisting in duties such as dusting and/or wiping surfaces, folding and replacing inventory that may have been handled, assisting with re-stocking low inventory items, etc.
Position Overview
- Create a welcoming and energetic fan experience throughout the ballpark
- Assist the Store Manager before, during, and after games, including light cleaning and straightening up, restocking, and opening/closing the point of sale.
- Provide excellent and friendly customer service. Greet everyone entering the store proactively.
- Complete purchases in a timely and accurate manner through the point of sale.
- Be accountable for any cash transactions, ensuring that cash on hand matches the transaction log at each night’s reconciliation
- Accurately answer questions regarding the layout of the ballpark, inventory, general team-related information, etc.
- Shifts vary based on many different factors but are generally around 3-4 hours each.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a diverse fan base
- Prior experience handling cash, credit cards or point-of-sale transactions preferred
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude when interacting with fans and other employees.
- May be required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit as needed
- The ability to lift 10 pounds.
- The ability to work comfortably around crowds, loud noises, and potential exposure to the elements
