The Wilmington Blue Rocks seek a passionate and hardworking individual to serve as our Director of Corporate Partnerships. This person will be a senior-level contributor responsible for driving new revenue through the sale of corporate partnerships.
This role is focused on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, including signage, media, digital, experiential, and event-based platforms. This person should be an outgoing, energetic and creative sales professional; a self-starter with a strong sales history and a proven track record of revenue generation and relationship-building at a high level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and cultivate new corporate partnership opportunities
- Lead all aspects of the sales cycle — from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and closing
- Collaborate internally to develop new innovative partnership and activation concepts
- Exhibit professionalism and strategic insight in external meetings and events
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities
- Help with the preparation and execution of sales events and season ticket initiatives
- Assist leadership team, sales team members, and other departments as needed
- Other duties as assigned by General Manager
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sports sponsorship or high-level B2B sales
- Prior success in closing complex, high-value deals
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, goal-driven, and comfortable working independently
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Work Environment:
- Office: Standard office environment with occasional evening/weekend work
- Gameday: Requires extended hours and a presence in a crowded outdoor sports venue; exposure to varying weather conditions
