The Government & Community Affairs Assistant will provide administrative support for the Government & Community Affairs department and handle processing of Military Hero of the Game applicants

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the application database and review and selection process for Military Heroes of the Game and coordinate game day logistics with the Marketing department as needed
  • In coordination with the Sr Manager, review and select Military Hero candidates/honorees 
  • Manage all preparations and logistics for the Military Hero of the Game including game day management 
  •  Assume primary receptionist duties for the department main line including answering phones, screening and routing calls, taking messages and assisting with greeting VIP guests
  • In coordination with the Sr. Coordinator, provide administrative support for the Dodgers-in-kind donation database
  • Maintain/Track in-kind, promo, and gift inventory
  • Coordinate donation related pre-game and game day on-field activities including batting practice visits, meet and greet visits, and auction experiences as needed
  • Submit department expense reports and invoices
  • Reads and distributes incoming correspondence and prepare outgoing correspondence
  • Composes/drafts routine correspondence
  • Creates PowerPoint/Canva slide decks as directed
  • Order office supplies and monitor inventory
  • Updates and maintains mailing lists
  • Produces mailing labels and reports as requested
  • Assist the department as needed with data tracking and measuring impacts of all related community events and initiatives

 Basic Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (verbal and written) preferred
  • Minimum one to two years’ clerical or administrative experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of general office machines and telephone system
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally move about to access various areas of the stadium and remain standing for extended periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with verifiable safe driving record
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and maintain flexibility when working on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
  • Goal oriented, self-starter with strong work ethic
  • Able to work independently, and efficiently within specific deadlines
  • Ability to work successfully in a large communal front office atmosphere
  • Possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of discretion dealing with confidential matters
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other variable hours as needed
