Overview:
The Angels Ballpark Operations department is seeking a motivated, qualified intern to assist with scheduling/ballpark operations duties. This intern position will provide administrative and operational support to assist in the overall ballpark operation function of the Los Angeles Angels. Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, the Scheduling Intern will assist with staffing plans, monitor time keeping compliance and serve as a point of contact for scheduled employees.  This is an excellent chance to learn the skills necessary to work for a professional sports team and gain valuable insight on working in sports, entertainment, and live events.

This is a seasonal full time hours role.  The internship is slated to start mid January 2026 and go through October 2026. The hourly pay rate for this position is $16.90/hr.  This position is also eligible for sick time (after 90 days of employment) and 401k employee contributions after 3 months. Interns are also eligible for perks such as game tickets, early office closure pay, merchandise discounts and more. 

Duties:                                                                                                                                                                                 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with attendance hotline and Scheduling email inbox and serve as the main contact for all hourly event staff for any attendance-related issues
  • Assists with preparation and distribution of computerized work schedules for each department of Angels Baseball
  • Monitors potential meal and rest break violations and cross checks against information in employee records to determine proper payment of penalties under CA law
  • Assist with reports on labor costs including overtime and budget variances
  • Coordinates monthly birthday mailings
  • Assists with coordinating ABI Mastermind (“ABI”) functions, including:
  • Creating event templates based on projected attendance
  • Tracking individual employee attendance records, notating tardiness and absences in ABI and reporting issues to HR if deemed necessary.
  • Ensuring adequate coverage is maintained for all staffing needs and positions are filled when scheduled employees are unavailable for their shifts.
  • Processing daily time card records and reviews for errors or inconsistencies. Communicating with department managers to correct any WIP errors or warnings or other adjustments from the previous work day.
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times and information is only provided to those who are entitled to access such information
  • Must be available to work events to ensure that employees are able to successfully clock in and out for the day
  • Performs other job-related duties as required 

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree with business or resource planning emphasis preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish is required
  • Experience with ABI MasterMind a plus
  • Highly competent with MS Excel and Word as well as the ability to learn new programs and troubleshoot system issues utilizing available IS resources with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and through written correspondence with all levels of management as well as employees and vendors
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work varied hours, including holidays, weekends and late nights as dictated by the events scheduled, if necessary

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to frequently sit for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to occasionally work in inclement weather (when in stadium)
  • Ability to traverse from office to stadium frequently
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
