Job Summary: The Manager, Sales Academy primarily focuses on hiring, developing, and coaching a team of entry-level sales associates and maintaining a focus on revenue generation through the sale of season ticket memberships, group tickets and premium seating. In addition to hiring and training each yearly Sales Academy class, this position will be responsible for driving new season and group revenue. This candidate will receive supervision from the Director, New Business & Development with the expectation to train, manage, and monitor the professional growth and sales success of those within the Sales Academy.




Accountabilities:
  • Exceed annual revenue goals both individually and for the Sales Academy
  • Recruit, hire, train, and coach Sales Academy Associates
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly activities of Sales Academy Associates
  • Attend appointments weekly with Sales Academy Associates
  • Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas, and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with Sales Academy Associates to review sales activity
  • In conjunction with other ticketing departments, manage and implement scheduling for the Sales Academy Associates on both game days and non-game days
  • Mentor each Sales Academy Associate to become future sales leaders
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Sales, or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years prior experience in sales and/or customer services is required, with sports sales experience preferred
  • Proven ability to motivate, train, and mentor entry level sales professionals
  • Successful history of sales results through a variety of means (e.g., cold calling, face-to-face meetings, referrals, etc.)
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding weekly, monthly, and yearly forecasted sales targets
  • A goal-focused individual with strong organizational and time managements skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products as well as ability to learn and master new software programs
  • Available to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends
  • Available for some travel outside the Kansas City area as needed
