Job Title: Coordinator – Events & Activations
Job Summary: This position’s primary responsibility will be to assist with all gate giveaway and theme night distributions as well as assist in small-scale gameday and non-gameday events. Additional responsibilities include overseeing New Crew fulfillment service, assisting with large-scale, non-game day events, and being an agile member of the Events & Activations Department – working behind the scenes to aid in the creation and execution of unique experiences for the Kansas City Royals.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
· Lead smaller-capacity special events during gamedays and non-gamedays
· Assist with external distribution of all giveaway items (externally at gates)
· Assist with event planning, set-up, and production for all theme nights
· Assist with internal distribution of all giveaway and theme items (internally for front office)
· Assist on theme night execution, as well as any applicable planning and coordination
· Assist with any large-scale internal events, such as Fundraising Events, Galas, Holiday Parties, etc.
· Organize and maintain accurate inventory for all giveaway and theme items
· Ensure clear, articulate and timely communication of event needs and requirements to all internal departments, partners, and vendors
· Assist in creative planning, developing, improving, and evolving all theme nights and special events from year to year
· Oversee the fulfillment of New Crew orders
· Assist with various concert prep, and other large-scale events as needed
· Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director – Events & Activations and/or the Associate Director – Special Events
Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
· 4-year college degree or combination of equivalent education and experience
· Has previous event execution experience; supporting with day-of responsibilities to bring events to life
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proactive thinking individual with the ability to multitask
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Ability to handle multiple projects at once and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Can handle outside environment working conditions
· Able to work evenings and weekends as needed for Royals home games, and non-game day special events
· Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communication, or related field is a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to handle some manual labor, including lifting boxes and pushing carts
· Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds
· Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
· Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
· Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
· Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling
