Summary: 
The Norfolk Tides are seeking Guest Services Representatives to support the operation of Harbor Park on game days through exceptional customer service and a commitment to creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for all fans. These part-time positions include Usher, Gate Captain, Ticket Scanner, Premium Area Attendant, and Parking Lot Attendant.

Job Descriptions: 
Usher: responsible for providing excellent guest service and ensuring fan safety and comfort within their assigned seating area. Ushers serve as the front-line representatives of the ballpark, offering assistance, enforcing stadium policies, and helping guests have a positive and memorable experience. 
Key duties 
  • Greet guests warmly as they enter your assigned section. 
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, complaints, or requests.
  • Assist guests in locating their seats and provide directions to nearby amenities (restrooms, concessions, guest services, etc.).

Gate Captain: responsible for staff at a designated stadium entrance, ensuring smooth guest entry, enforcing security and ticketing protocols, and providing leadership to ticket scanners.
Key Duties: 
  • Supervise assigned gate staff and check bags.
  • Resolve guest issues, escalate incidents as needed, and enforce entry policies.
  • Assist with crowd control, gate flow, and emergency procedures.

Ticket Scanner: responsible for greeting guests at stadium entrances and ensuring valid entry by scanning tickets efficiently and accurately.
Key Duties: 
  • Greet guests and scan physical or mobile tickets using handheld scanners.
  • Verify ticket validity and direct guests to appropriate seating areas.
  • Enforce entry policies, including clear bag policy and prohibited items.

Premium Area Attendant: responsible for checking tickets, monitoring fan behavior, and greeting fans as they arrive at premium areas including press area, suite level, group areas, player entrances, elevators and stairwells. 
Key Duties: 
  • Greet guests with professionalism and a friendly attitude.
  • Verify credentials and tickets for premium areas. 
  • Provide guests with directions and general information as needed. 

Parking Lot Attendant: responsible for greeting arriving fans and verifying that they have the proper identification or credentials for access to the designated parking areas.
Key Duties: 
  • Check parking passes and assist with payment if required.
  • Enforce parking rules and assist with accessible and VIP parking as assigned.
  • Report any safety concerns, accidents, or unauthorized vehicles to supervisors.

Qualifications: 
  • Must be at least 16 years old. 
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. 
  • Available to work the majority of the 75 home games. 
  • Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Employee Perks/Pay:
  • $12.77 per hour. 
  • Complimentary hot dog and soda voucher each game. 
  • 20% employee discount in Norfolk Tides team store. 
  • One 15-minute break per shift. 
  • Two game vouchers for 20 games worked.
