Summary:
The Norfolk Tides are seeking Gate Captains and Ticket Scanners to support the operation of Harbor Park on game days through exceptional customer service and a commitment to creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for all fans. The Norfolk Tides are the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
Job Descriptions:
Gate Captain: responsible for staff at a designated stadium entrance, ensuring smooth guest entry, enforcing security and ticketing protocols, and providing leadership to ticket scanners.
Key Duties:
- Supervise assigned gate staff and check bags.
- Resolve guest issues, escalate incidents as needed, and enforce entry policies.
- Assist with crowd control, gate flow, and emergency procedures.
Ticket Scanner: responsible for greeting guests at stadium entrances and ensuring valid entry by scanning tickets efficiently and accurately.
Key Duties:
- Greet guests and scan physical or mobile tickets using handheld scanners.
- Verify ticket validity and direct guests to appropriate seating areas.
- Enforce entry policies, including clear bag policy and prohibited items.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
- Available to work the majority of the 75 home games.
- Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
