ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The Account Executive, Partnership Sales, is primarily responsible for generating new business revenue with local, regional, and national companies through the sale of sponsorship packages for the Memphis Redbirds and additional AutoZone Park events. This motivated individual will sell fully integrated marketing programs that include marketing rights, on-site signage, game sponsorships, promotions, event marketing and digital assets. This position works with current clients and develops new clients to meet and exceed budgeted sales goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive new business by prospecting and cold calling for new customers.
- Establish strong working relationships with local, regional, and national companies to understand individual marketing goals and business initiatives.
- Follow up on partner meeting with next steps:
- Develop unique and individualized marketing proposals and sales presentations for new business prospects.
- Set future meeting dates
- Category research
- Negotiate sponsor contracts under the direction of the Director, Partnership Sales & the President/GM.
- Upsell additional assets into current partnership agreements.
- Research, manage and maintain a list of potential new partners utilizing KORE CRM.
- Manage all aspects of the relationship with current and new corporate partners from initial introduction to renewal.
- Meet and exceed new business and renewal goals.
- Proactively create new revenue generating opportunities for the club and clients.
- Work closely across all departments within the club to achieve team marketing, communication, community relations, ticket, and merchandise sales objectives.
- Able to work long hours including nights, holidays & weekends as required during seasons including tarp pulls and other duties as assigned.
Game Day Duties:
- Strengthening relationships with corporate partners, fans and the community.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including tarp pulls.
- Assist with client and fan hospitality as needed.
- Assist with promotional activation as needed.
- Assist other departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required or related work experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of sales experience with demonstrated success in broadcast media, sport sponsorship or entertainment fields.
- Demonstrated ability to sell fully integrated marketing packages.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Memphis is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and keep time sensitive, highly visible projects running smoothly.
- Demonstrate professional sales presentation skills with strong proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, & select holidays.
