Job Overview
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are looking for energetic, outgoing, and creative individuals to join our team of mascot performers and help bring fun and happiness to every baseball game and community event as a costumed performer. (NOTE: This position is currently set to be supplementary to our primary mascot performers, however, there will be many opportunities to perform during IronPigs games and off-site appearances.) Candidates should be ready and excited to bring fun, humor, and good-natured mischief to everyone. This position is part-time seasonal from March-September, with opportunities for additional appearances in the off-season.
 
Responsibilities
  • Perform in costume as needed during IronPigs games or appearances in the community with humor, energy, and excitement
  • Learn the appropriate non-verbal mannerisms and other personality traits and characteristics of our mascots
  • Plan and execute dance routines, skits, and other routines to fans of all ages
  • High level of friendly, positive fan interaction that will create lasting memories
  • Pose for photos and sign autographs
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
  • Must be a natural entertainer who loves to make people laugh, cheer, and smile
  • Comfortable performing in front of a crowd in a variety of ways (skits, dances, etc.)
  • Ability to be on your feet and in a warm costume for extended periods of time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people of all ages, especially children
  • Strong non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, mainly nights and weekends on an as-needed basis
  • Reliable transportation
  • Punctual
  • This position requires wearing a mascot costume designed to fit individuals within a specific size range. Candidates must be able to comfortably and safely wear the costume. Reasonable accommodations will be considered where possible. 
  • Prior mascot experience is a plus but not required
  • Local candidates are preferred
