The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are looking for one (1) individual to serve as our “Promotions & Special Events Intern” The Jumbo Shrimp Promotions & Special Events Intern will assist the Promotions Coordinator leading up to and during the 2026 Jumbo Shrimp Baseball season.  A Promotions & Special Events Intern should be outgoing, possess superior communication skills, be detail oriented and be extremely comfortable working with people in a fast-paced environment.  Most importantly, the Promotions & Special Events Intern should be energetic and excited about promoting Jumbo Shrimp baseball by providing a superior gameday experience on game days and during Jumbo Shrimp special events.  The Promotions & Special Events Intern may rotate as mascot handler and/or mascot performer for appearances if the primary game day mascots are unable to perform.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Support the Promotions Department in planning and executing theme nights and the development and execution of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Contributing to and assisting with the planning the Promotions Team’s between inning games and game day presentation 
    • Setting up and prepping staff areas for the day’s promotional elements 
    • Maintain the cleanliness & manage inventory of the promotional storage areas 
 
  • Assist in execution of select pregame ceremonies, in-game promotions, and post-game events 
    • Ceremonial first pitches 
    • National Anthems 
    • On field contestants and between inning games 
    • Promotional giveaways 
 
  • Assist with on-site non-baseball events
  • Must be willing to work summer holidays, and weekends (Jumbo Shrimp home games and TBD special events) 
  • Must be willing to complete the internship through its entirety (March-September 2026)  
  • Must be willing to cooperate and work well with all other areas of our organization 
  • Have general working knowledge of baseball and an open, creative mind 
  • Must represent the Jumbo Shrimp in a professional manner
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time

Dates:  March 1, 2026- September 30, 2026
Hours:  Full time office hours in addition to all home games
Compensation:  Per game rate; College internship credit/project
