Hours: 40+ hours per week in addition to all home games and public events
Pay: $1,750 monthly stipend
 
Job Summary
The Indianapolis Indians are seeking a candidate to support email strategy, website management, in-game promotions, and various marketing efforts. This position will be responsible for leading the Rowdie Crew, assisting with script writing, managing promotions, and overseeing project management and audio tasks. The role offers hands-on experience in sports marketing and event management, making it an excellent opportunity for those interested in professional or collegiate athletics.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the team’s email marketing strategy, including pregame and postgame emails, as well as other in-season email communications.
  • Assist in the management and optimization of the team's website, ensuring content updates are SEO-optimized and user-friendly. 
  • Lead the Rowdie Crew during select games, managing contests, on-field activities, and coordinating various fan engagement opportunities.
  • Assist in writing and editing scripts for in-game entertainment and coordinating audio and production elements.
  • Help oversee coordination and execution of key marketing projects, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Assist larger scale promotions including activating character lines, helping with gate giveaways and collecting data through photo opportunities.
  • Assist creative services department by making edits, developing website pages, updating digital needs and other marketing content.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that marketing materials and communications are accurate and aligned with the team’s objectives, including ticketing and fan engagement.
  • Enter data into CRM system
  • Assist Field Operations with field maintenance - pulling tarp, clearing fireworks, etc.
  • Game day shuttle and front desk shifts in season, as assigned, on a rotating schedule.
  • Represent the Indians at various community outreach events.
  • Assist with public and private stadium events, as needed, including the Victory Field Classic, City/County Championships, IHSAA State Finals, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 
Majoring in or graduated with a degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or related area of concentration. Applicants must have strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, exceptional organizational skills and work in close conjunction with the marketing staff daily for the duration of the Minor League Baseball season (March – September). Previous experience in marketing or collegiate sports preferred. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Skills & Abilities 

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a stressful environment 
  • Organizational skills and strong attention to detail 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Ability to work up to 14 hours per day, up to 85 hours per week

The Indianapolis Indians are the professional Triple-A baseball club affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
