Overview
The Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our Public Relations and Communications team. The Public Relations Associate will assist in all functions of the Gwinnett Stripers Public Relations Department, the team’s link to local/national media outlets and the public. This position will also serve as a key content creator for the Stripers, hosting recorded and live segments for social platforms and video board and writing feature stories and other content for the website and gameday program.
The Stripers’ Public Relations Department handles outgoing communications (press releases, media advisories, media guides, game notes, game recaps), as well as incoming media requests (interviews, credentials, photo/information requests, etc.). The department also plays a key role in the Stripers’ marketing efforts, contributing to the team website, gameday program, and social platforms.
This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or early career professionals who are passionate about sports, highly motivated, and eager to gain hands-on leadership experience. The program begins in February 2026 and runs through the conclusion of the Minor League Baseball season in September 2026.
· Responsibilities:
· Handle media requests, including credentials, photos, and player/coach interviews
· Create and update statistical records for daily distribution to coaches and media
· Write post-game recaps and contribute to daily game notes and broadcast research
· Write promotional homestand highlights releases and other press releases/advisories
· Write engaging feature stories for the team website and gameday program
· Conduct on-field pregame and postgame interviews with players/coaches as needed for radio and in-house broadcast
· Oversee the creation and editing of the trading card set
· Assist in maintaining all editorial areas of the team website
· Assist with the creation and editing of the annual Media Guide
· Assist in the team’s digital marketing efforts
· Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by other Department Managers, or General Manager
Qualifications:
· Recent college graduate possessing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
· Previous sports writing experience (feature stories and game recaps) at either the collegiate or professional level
· Extensive knowledge of baseball rules and scoring
· Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Audition, Photoshop)
· Detail-oriented, organized, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to multi-task and work with strict deadlines
· Flexible schedule: available January-October; able to work nights and weekends as well as non-game days needed
· Must complete a successful background check
