POSITION OVERVIEW
The Durham Bulls are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and outgoing Mascot Program Coordinator to lead our mascot program and serve as a key ambassador for our brand. This full-time position will be the face of the Durham Bulls in the community, performing as Wool E. Bull at all home games, community events, sponsor appearances, and other special engagements. The ideal candidate thrives in high-energy environments, enjoys connecting with fans of all ages, and works seamlessly with a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Bulls’ mascot, Wool E. Bull, at all home games, community events, sponsor functions, and special team appearances.
- Manage Wool E. Bull’s appearance schedule, coordinating with internal teams and external clients to ensure a minimum of 15 outside appearances per month.
- Develop and grow the secondary mascot program, Blue Monster, including hiring, training, and overseeing part-time performers.
- Maintain and expand mascot-focused social media channels, creating engaging content to increase fan engagement.
- Execute seasonal and holiday outreach programs, including Wool E. Grams for Valentine’s Day and Halloween.
- Assist with programs featuring Wool E. Bull, including Reading Programs, school initiatives, and future Kids Club events.
- Build off-season programming for Blue Monster to enhance fan engagement year-round.
- Collaborate with the Director of Promotions to design creative fan experiences on game days.
- Partner with the sponsorship activation team to integrate Wool E. Bull into current and prospective corporate partnerships.
- Coordinate vendors and logistics for community events, such as Education Day and other team-sponsored initiatives.
- Manage donation requests and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Maintain mascot costumes and ensure all elements meet high-quality performance standards.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance for mascot-related vehicles.
Minimum Requirements:
- Preferred height: 5’8” – 6’1”.
- Previous mascot experience required.
- Performance, dance, or acting experience a plus.
- Ability to drive and operate a go-kart, ATV, and appearance van.
- Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and regular office hours to support program growth.
- Social media proficiency, including Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Ability to perform continuously for up to two hours in costume.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and maintain high energy in varying temperatures.

- Seeing, hearing, listening, touching, ability to move across distances, climbing, pushing, and pulling, and hand/finger dexterity.
- Capacity for intermediate reading and writing, basic clerical and math skills, advanced analysis and comprehension skills, advanced judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to perform continuously for up to two hours in costume in outside weather conditions.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
