Overview


The Durham Bulls are seeking a talented, brand-obsessed Manager of Graphic Design to own the visual identity of one of Minor League Baseball's most iconic franchises. This role is responsible for helping maintain the organization's brand identity and ensuring every designed asset that leaves the building reflects the quality, energy, and character of the Bulls brand.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Work with the Director of Marketing & Fan Experience to develop the organization's annual creative theme and visual identity for each season from the overarching brand campaign down to individual promotional nights and theme events.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing & Fan Experience and senior leadership to align creative direction with organizational revenue and brand goals.
  • Develop and maintain a design production calendar, prioritizing work across departments and ensuring all deadlines are met throughout the season.
  • Produce high-priority, high-visibility design work including season campaign assets, major promotional night graphics, organizational presentations, partnership decks, and brand identity materials.
  • Partner with the Manager of Game Presentation & Production on in-game graphic packages, videoboard design assets, and entertainment visuals.
  • Work with the sponsorship team to design partner fulfillment assets, co-branded materials, and custom sponsor graphics that meet contractual obligations.
  • Support community relations and marketing teams with design assets for outreach initiatives, events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Consult with ticket sales on collateral design for season ticket, group, and suite sales materials.
  • Develop templated design systems that allow the marketing team to produce on-brand digital content efficiently and independently.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of graphic design experience in a sports, entertainment, or agency environment
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign required.
  • Strong portfolio showing range across brand identity, print, digital, and social media design.
  • Proven ability to manage a design production calendar across multiple concurrent projects and departmental stakeholders.
  • Passion for sports, visual storytelling, and delivering creative work that connects with fans.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in MiLB, MLB, or professional sports design.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics or demonstrated experience collaborating with a video production team on visual consistency.
  • Environmental or experiential design experience, including stadium signage, banners, or large-format print.
  • Working knowledge of digital advertising specs, email design, and web asset production.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, holidays and game days / special events.
  • Ability to remain focused and perform work in noisy and crowded environments with multiple distractions.
  • This position requires working outdoors in unpredictable weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, necessitating the ability to adapt to changing environmental factors and wear appropriate protective gear as needed.
