POSITION OVERVIEW
The Durham Bulls are seeking an experienced, innovative, and dynamic Manager, Game Presentation & Production to lead the design, direction, and delivery of a world-class fan experience at Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) both on game days and across all year-round events hosted at the ballpark.

This individual will serve as the creative producer, show-caller, and entertainment leader for Bulls home games, major events, and external productions — overseeing all aspects of game presentation, live production, and in-venue entertainment. The ideal candidate combines creative storytelling, operational excellence, and a passion for creating memorable live experiences that rival top entertainment venue standards.

This role collaborates closely with the Bulls creative and content team, corporate partnerships, operations, and community relations to ensure every event — whether a Bulls game, college showcase, or concert — delivers a best-in-class experience consistent with the Durham Bulls brand.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
You’re a producer, storyteller, and leader — equally comfortable in the control room, on the field, or in the boardroom. You see the ballpark as a canvas for creativity, the fans as your audience, and every event as a stage for unforgettable experiences. You set the standard for entertainment innovation and thrive in an environment that values collaboration, precision, and bold ideas.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Game Presentation & Live Event Production
  • Serve as the lead show-caller and in-game producer for all Durham Bulls home games and special events.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive presentation strategy that integrates storytelling, entertainment, and brand authenticity to create an unmatched atmosphere at the DBAP.
  • Lead all aspects of live production — including video board operation, camera direction, lighting, sound, mascots, and on-field entertainment.
  • Manage a game day production team, including camera operators, PA announcer, on-field hosts, and technical crew.
  • Oversee detailed timing sheets, rundowns, and production scripts, ensuring flawless coordination of all elements in collaboration with partnerships, marketing, and operations.
  • Partner with Corporate Partnerships to creatively integrate sponsor activations that enhance — not interrupt — the entertainment experience.

 Creative Direction & Storytelling
  • Concept, script, and produce new in-game features, ceremonies, theme nights, and fan traditions that elevate engagement and excitement.
  • Collaborate with the creative and content team to develop and execute dynamic in-venue video and motion-graphics content that brings the brand to life.
  • Use storytelling to celebrate the Bulls’ players, fans, and community, ensuring every game feels unique and emotionally resonant.
  • Push creative boundaries — delivering fresh, relevant, and culturally aware concepts that keep the Bulls at the forefront of sports entertainment.

Year-Round Ballpark Entertainment & Event Production
  • Serve as the lead producer and entertainment point person for all non-Bulls events at the DBAP, including college baseball, community celebrations, corporate events, and concerts.
  • Collaborate with the Events and Operations teams to design and execute customized entertainment and production plans that elevate the experience for every event tenant or partner.
  • Oversee the creative use of the DBAP’s control room, video board, and in-venue assets to bring these events to life — maintaining the Bulls’ production quality year-round.
  • Ensure consistent brand presentation, entertainment standards, and technical excellence across all DBAP events.
  • Provide event consultation, run-of-show management, and on-site production leadership to external clients using the facility.

Innovation, Technology & Fan Experience Evolution
  • Champion innovation by introducing new technologies and fan engagement tools into the in-game and event experience.
  • Partner with the technical and operations teams to evaluate and upgrade control room systems, video workflows, and creative software.
  • Measure and analyze fan engagement metrics to inform future production and storytelling strategies.
  • Benchmark against MLB and top-tier entertainment venues to keep the Durham Bulls positioned as a national leader in fan experience.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead and train a creative, reliable, and detail-oriented production team that thrives under pressure.
  • Foster collaboration across departments — ensuring marketing, partnerships, operations, and community relations work together seamlessly to enhance every game and event.
  • Manage production budgets, vendor relationships, and freelance staff for in-game and off-season events.
  • Contribute to the Bulls’ overall marketing strategy, helping shape long-term fan experience and entertainment goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of experience in game presentation, live production, or sports/entertainment event management (MLB, MiLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, or collegiate athletics preferred).
  • Proven experience show-calling and directing live events with multi-camera and broadcast elements.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing live production teams and collaborating with creative professionals.
  • Working knowledge of Ross Dashboard, Ross Xpression, Ross Graphic Editor and ShoFlo required.
  • Experience in 3play and switchboard preferred.
  • Strategic thinker with strong storytelling instincts and a deep understanding of brand and fan psychology.
