Assistant Director of Merchandise, Director of E-Commerce
The Columbus Clippers are looking for an individual looking to grow their career in sports retail with a full-time, salary position. This position would require work on weekends, holidays, and non-game day events alongside the regular home Clippers schedule. Employee would not be asked to travel to away games.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
● Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
● Work daily schedule as well as before, during, and after all Clippers games.
● Assist with overseeing team store operations including scheduling of hours and the delegation of tasks.
● Oversee the online team store, including the monitoring of sales, collection of online orders, packaging and shipping of items and changing of orders.
●Package and ship merchandise with attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
●Ensure accurate cash handling and POS system operation.
● Prepare and maintain accurate inventory records and adjust inventory as needed.
● Manage the retail merchandise Counterpoint (POS).
● Create an inviting retail store layout and displays that promote the team merchandise.
●Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for fans during all events.
●Help plan and execute merchandise strategy for theme nights and special events.
● Maintain routine communication with the Vice President, Merchandise and provide pertinent information regarding retail merchandise and souvenir operations.
●Attend and contribute to monthly MiLB calls and seminars to gain and share insights from and with other clubs.
●Track movement and delivery of anticipated merchandise inventory using websites, applications or inventory systems.
●Assist with Cargo Store digital and social content.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
● Job may require employees to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue/environment.
●Employees may also be exposed to weather of varying degrees for extended periods of time while performing the duties of this job. Examples, rain, cold and heat.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
●This position requites excellent communication and organizational skills for success.
●As a manager and the point of contact for retail customers, this position will require positivity, problem solving abilities and a commitment to meet and exceed desired expectations.
●Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
●Familiarity with retail POS systems, Microsoft Excel or accounting systems preferred and Shopify.
